Where do you go when you want to get away from it all? This is our place. When Jason and I were in college we went to church at Northwoods Bible Fellowship in WI. Very quickly we fell in love with the people there. God has blessed us with some dear friends-for-life from the relationships we built during those years. This cottage belongs to a couple in the church. Over the past 8 years we've been here many times! Last week we went back for a 4-day get-away. We had no internet, cell phone coverage, or tv. It was such a relaxing time and the beauty of God's creation was incredible.
We enjoyed long days of rest and relaxation.
Jonas and Ella loved paddleboating with daddy,
finding treasures,
gathering pinecones,
poking things, :)
and collecting seashells!
The BIG Surprise was Sarah (Thornberry) Curtis!!!! We were best of friends (and roommates) throughout our years at N-land and we haven't seen each other for 5 years! Sarah and I were 2 of the originals on our extension. When we arrived in Lakewood on Sun PM there was Sarah (and I CAN'T leave out- Abram!) waiting for us! Wow! I was so shocked I could only stare and then back up and come in the room again to see if it was real! We had such a great time re-connecting. Sarah is just one of those few people in my life I know I'll ALWAYS be best friends with. I love you Sarah!

So, I am assuming that Abram is the one who took the family pictures that are on your facebook? He did a great job. Your weekend looked relaxing and memorable! Thanks for putting up all the pics

Wow! How nice! I miss the North! It looks beautiful! I'm glad your family was able to get away and see old friends! Sarah was the one who got me into my society! She was awesome!
OH BETH...that's SO awesome!!! I LOVE that Sarah!!!!! :) It almost made me cry to hear of her surprise because I know how nice it is to be able to reconnect with your lifelong best of friends!!! There is definitely something about getting together, especially when there are kids in the picture. The connection goes deeper for sure!!! Looks like you had such a wonderful time!!! You took some awesome pics at the lake...love the one of Jason and Jonas sitting on the dock, of Jonas fishing, and Ella holding the pinecone!!!!! What great memories your kids will have!!!

Chas- yes, i try! My book for Jonas is only done through his first 6 months. My book for Ella is through 1 month. My book for Kate is not started. My family book is up to Jo's birth. I can imagine all the great layouts too- that's as far as it gets! Now that we won't be moving every year I'm going to seriously get to scrapbooking! I would LOVE it if we could do that together :)
