Pray for Justin

My little brother, Justin Brumbaugh, went to Africa for a 5 week missions trip earlier this summer. He has been home for a few weeks and just a few days ago noticed that he was swollen in his face and legs. He went to ER and then was admitted to Memorial hospital in Chattanooga, TN. on Monday night. He has 2 heart valves that are leaking. The condition of them is "moderate to severe". From last Thursday to Monday when he went to ER he had gained 20 pounds (fluid retention). He is on blood thinners to prevent clotting and some dieretics to relieve the pressure on his lunges and heart. The doctors believe that his condition must have been brought on by some type of infection he picked up in Africa (which could be lots of different things and could be very hard to pinpoint). However, he has no obvious infection in his body now. So, we're praying for wisdom for the doctors that they will be able to find the type of infection he has or had and are able to treat him for that. He is feeling ok, but he's very tired. Pray also for the rest of us kids who are away from home and wish we could be there together! Amy is working at a camp in New York for the summer, I am here in Minneapolis of course, and Mark, Anne, and Titus are in VA Beach. So, all we can do and the MOST we can do is pray. Please join us!

Just heard the news today that Justin was in the hospital. We will all be praying...for him and you all. I love that guy. Call me if you need to talk. I am going to try to stop by the hospital to see your parents.

Went to see Justin and the family last night. Justin said he'd been getting calls from all over the country. He was up and dressed, but still on a heart monitor. He looks like he is feeling better. I think they are getting closer to pinpointing what kind of YUCK he brought home from Africa. Hang in there out in Minnesota.
