I also wanted to share the shelf idea in this picture. You can get a board cut to length at Home Depot if you don't own a saw. We screwed 4- L brackets to the wall and then to the board. The shelf rests on the window casing also. This is a great use of small spaces. It would have been great to use in our apartments! I've seen high shelves used for blanket storage in hallways, for games in family rooms, books in living rooms, bath salts and towels in bathrooms, children's toys and books in the nursery, etc...

My messy kitchen
I can't believe I'm posting this picture of my messy kitchen/ dining area, but this is real life for me! My day started at 6:00 this morning with Kate and then 6:30 when the man who installed our appliances came to the door! I was a little surprised to see him so early. The work went smoothly and by 2 pm our old appliances were out and our new range, microwave, and dishwasher were in. They look amazing! I'm sorry I don't have pics yet.

Beth~ don't feel alone. my kitchen right now could use some attention. I am loving your colors!!! So, you could totally use this post (esp. with the shelf idea) for artsymamma. You could also give her your ragamuffin site. Hmmm. AND, we have the same "lovely" copper tile as our blacksplash. We ended up just painting it. The cool thing is that its magnetic! I found a magnetic spice holder, measuring chart and put up some pictures. It's not too bad. YOur place is looking adorable!!!!!
p.s. what GREEN did you use? we are looking for a green like that for our bathroom. i am liking your green.
Green is hard! I used Guacamole. I think I picked up the paint sample at a Menards and then took it to Home Depot to match. I love BEHR paints there. So, give me your address and I'll send you a sample.
Can't wait to see your new appliances in person tomorrow night--are we still on?
I love the green!!! Even the sippy cup matches!
uh, sorry. not sure where the name "ragamuffin" popped from. i meant ragtop. oops.

thanks.
great idea, thanks for sharing. You are so artful.
I love the colors! So fun and warm! Great idea with the shelf! Don installed five or six in our office to hold his massive collection of BOOKS! I've added a few things as well, to spice it up. We stained ours and had decorative L brackets holding them up. Love it, Love it!
Katrina-- So, blog these shelves! I'd love to see!
