beautiful lady in waiting

Amy and Mark are living in our house now. They moved here from Bend, OR several weeks ago. It is a blessing to share our home and our lives with them. We are enjoying immensely how God has lead our brother and sister here to prepare with us for our future ministry together. This note explains their journey. Amy is due on Monday with their first baby. I'm filled with joy and anticipation to watch her go through the process of becoming a mommy. It's an amazing calling and I know God will give her grace to live it for His glory! Although I've tried to communicate many things about motherhood to Amy it's really just something you have to experience. And so as she waits and watches with wonder for the day he will arrive I'm reminded many times over about the blessings that God has called me to mother and thankful that she too is blessed with this child.

Amy was recently given this advice and I love it! It actually brought tears to my eyes. The sweet lady who gave this to Amy has been a model to us of a Godly unselfish mother's love to her children. I wanted to share it here:

"Kids take so much time and energy and sometimes it's just easier to say no to all the questions they ask. I think that if I could tell you anything it would be to not be afraid to say yes. Yes to a picnic in the living room, yes to playdoh and water colors, yes to that garish outfit, yes to a few more books or one more cookie, yes to that puppy. All too soon, your son will be taller than you and opening jars that are too hard for you. It's a wild ride- enjoy every minute of it."

I too LOVE the pictures!!! You definitely have a nack for photography, among SO many other things!!!! These pictures are just beautiful!

Also LOVE the words of wisdom! Wish we didn't get so wrapped up in life and wanting things to be "as they should" rather than just enjoying life! Thanks for sharing!
