I'm busy getting ready for the next season at the Calico Barn. This season I'm not only sewing, but also creating some minature scrapbook/ "Picture Puzzlers" (thanks to Cathy Van Laanen!). I don't have much time so I'm busy through the day trying to get as much done as possible. You can kind of see my stuff all over the living room behind Ella in the following pictures. Ella of course has to be right in the middle of it all. This week I found the best thing to keep her happy for a long time... a big jar of buttons! She loves them. She picks out her favorite buttons and very thoughtfully and purposefully fills each spot in the muffin tin. She also counts them "4,5,6, 8, 9, 10!" Jonas likes the counting and sorting game for a few minutes and then he just races his cars through a massive pile of buttons and has all kinds of crashes which Ella scolds him for. I should have taken pictures of that!

Fun times!!! Keep up the great work!!! It was good to have Amy & Justin back today.
OK - A couple of questions...That is not the Buffalo Nickel trunk is it? It looks too small. Also, where did you get the wonderful muffin pan?
No, that's not the big trunk. This is one I got at the Junk Market. The Junk Market is another great place to visit. It's a few ladies from MN who collect junk and make stuff out of it. They have several big sales a year. Designers from all around the country fly here for these sales to get great ideas and unique finds. (look online at junkmarket.com) This trunk was hidden in the corner of the l.room when you were here with the couch in front of it and a lamp standing on it. The muffin pan IS great isn't it? It's Pampered Chef. I got it for Christmas.
Oops Cathy- that's www.junkmarketstyle.com
Why haven't I heard about this little project?! We do live in the same state and go to church together--do we talk?!:)
the pics of ella are super cute! and i loved the description of jonah, typical boy.
Great idea - and I love that pampered chef muffin tin too! I'm afraid that my button collection would not go very far in entertaining my 2 year old! Yet another downfall to not being crafty - you're such a crafty woman. I really should work on my craftiness!
So I just have to throw this in here - since you're on the topic of the pampered chef muffin tin... turn it upside down and cut small squares or triangles out of pie dough. Bake until tan and fill with pudding. Top with whipped cream. For extra fun, add sprinkles or chocolate shavings! Too fun!!
And I agree with Nicki - I had no idea you were ventuing out into something new for the Barn! I'd love to see what you're working on now!! :-)
Sorry Nic... I gues we don't know EVERYTHING about each other after all!
Tiffany- I can't wait to look at your blog. Will you be at the CWF seminar next week?
Es- you're "crafty" in many ways I'll never be! (if you know what I mean :))
Rachel- thanks for the GREAT idea!!!! That sounds yummy. You know all the tricks. I'm glad we're friends. I'll have to bring a sample of the C.B. stuff to church tonight.
BETH!
What are picture puzzlers? I must know! I must! I must! I must!
:-)
I will post a long blog later (won't promise when!) concerning the whole schooling stuff/work stuff/ Jack stuff.
Such cute pictures of Ella; Jack would do the same thing with the buttons!
beth -
glad to see you are all doing so well....how are you feeling? where is the updated prego picture :)
Sherry- can't you see my big belly stick'n out from there? I have 7 weeks left and I look like I'm 7 weeks over-do! :)
Okay, we've played a lot with buttons at my house, but not with a muffin pan. Great idea. Course, gotta wait till Zoe is a little bigger so she doesn't eat them. I'm starting to see a little more of Jonas in Ella in some of these picts. Can't wait to see the next baby!
so whats this barn?
